Join us on February 22nd at 4pm as we welcome Christa Carmen and Jessa Maxwell in discussion about "The Art of Suspense"! Come on out to your local indie and learn what makes for an effective thriller, how to craft tension in your stories, and why suspense is crucial to good writing!
About the author(s):
Christa Carmen lives in Rhode Island. She is the author of The Daughters of Block Island, winner of the Bram Stoker Award and a Shirley Jackson Award finalist, the Indie Horror Book Award-winning Something Borrowed, Something Blood-Soaked, the Bram Stoker Award-nominated "Through the Looking Glass and Straight into Hell" (Orphans of Bliss: Tales of Addiction Horror), and the forthcoming How to Fake a Haunting. She has a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, an MA from Boston College, and an MFA from the University of Southern Maine.
Jessa Maxwell is the nationally bestselling author of The Golden Spoon, I Need You to Read This, and Dead of Summer. She is also the author and illustrator of five picture books for children. Her comics and cartoons have been published in The New Yorker and The New York Times and her writing has been published in Slate, Marie Claire, and many others. She now lives in Jamestown, Rhode Island, with her husband, two cats and three-legged dog.
Signed copies of both authors' books will be available during the event.
