Drawing inspiration from jazz pianist Brad Mehldau’s renditions of Radiohead and Beatles tunes, and tapping into the groove-oriented soul jazz of the 70s, the Chris Tauchner Trio will be presenting a tribute to iconic Canadian band The Tragically Hip.
Montreal native Chris Tauchner is a pianist, keyboardist, composer and educator who has been performing across North America for over twenty years. Focusing primarily on jazz, blues, and electronic music, he has performed at major festivals, appeared on radio and television, and recorded original albums. Jeff Gammon is an award-winning Canadian bassist, composer and educator. He has been a sought-after member of the Calgary and Vancouver scenes for over a decade, and is currently on the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music’s Jazz Faculty. Since discovering his love for music at a young age, veteran drummer Andy Ericson has been exploring the many avenues that music has to offer. He is active in the live music and the studio scene, and has been involved in hundreds of different projects ranging from CD recordings to film soundtracks, commercials and music for live theatre shows.
