Chorus Girl Workshop: Legacy of The Cotton Club Dancers
Schedule
Sat Dec 13 2025 at 10:30 am to 12:00 pm
UTC-06:00Location
Music Theater Heritage | Kansas City, KS
As a team we believe that cost should never be a barrier to dance. That's why our quarterly workshops are “Pay What You Can”.
The Cotton Club Dancers — fierce, talented Black women who helped shape jazz dance into the art form we love today. We dance because they danced, and now it’s our turn to keep the rhythm going. The Cotton Club gave these dancers a stage, but not always the respect they deserved. Despite tough limits and unfair rules, they brought incredible style, strength, and creativity to every performance — leaving a legacy that still moves us.
This workshop is all about dancing, connecting, and honoring those who paved the way. Come ready to move, learn, and add your voice to the ongoing story of jazz dance.
