Chordal Connections: Symphony Meets Raga
SAREGA presents an afternoon where two great musical traditions meet as one. Indian classical raga and Western symphonic form share a single stage — sitar and santoor alongside piano, tabla alongside choral voices.
Headlining are the Wahane Sisters (from India, disciples of Ustad Shahid Parvez)on sitar and santoor, joined by Meher Paralikar (from India, disciple of Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty) and Ankna Arockiam on vocals, Amit Anand and Alina Horvath on piano, Aniruddha Mukherjee and Dhananjay Modak on tabla.
Four hours of collaboration, improvisation and conversation between two traditions — from the ragas of the subcontinent to the harmonies of the concert hall.
2 traditions, 1 harmony.
