Invite a neighbor and join us for an afternoon of prayer and musical celebration for a time of transition. The service of choral evensong has a history of nearly 500 years, and is one of the great liturgies of the Anglican tradition. Close your weekend with this unique opportunity to unplug, reconnect, and be spiritually fed. No need to fly across the Atlantic!
Organist/choirmaster Ted Davis will lead the St. Bartholomew Choir in the service, which will feature evening canticles by Charles Stanford and evening responses by Thomas Tomkins.
Following Evensong (about 5:15 pm), we continue our ongoing celebration of our spectacular Casavant-Storey organ completed in 2007. While you may hear it on Sunday mornings, you might be surprised by the instrument’s full potential when given the opportunity to “let loose” a little more! Guest organists Robert Baird and Michael Kruppa from Peabody Conservatory will share their mastery on a delightful instrument.
Admission is free; donations gratefully accepted.
