Come to the Peoples' Voice Cafe to celebrate the long life and inspirational work of Pete Seeger, who died in 2014 aged 94, with David Bernz, musician and Grammy-winning producer, and his son Jacob Bernz. David will discuss his latest book Chopping Wood, co-authored with Seeger and based on hundreds of hours of conversations with him.
David and his son Jacob, a founding member of Clearwater's Power of Song group, will also play some of Seeger's songs.
The Peoples' Voice Cafe takes place at the Judson Memorial Church Assembly Hall at 239 Thompson Street, Lower Level. That is around the corner from the main church sanctuary.
This event is supported by the Folk Music Society of New York.
Doors open 7:15pm. Arrive early to be assured a seat. Admission is by contribution and is sliding scale. $20 suggested but no one turned away for lack of money.
