Trailblazing American conductor Jeri Lynne Johnson leads Symphony Nova Scotia in a sensational concert of symphonic favourites. Hear our own concertmaster Renaud Lapierre in Aaron Jay Kernis’ lush, lyrical Air, a “love letter to the violin”. Next, our orchestra performs Beethoven’s witty and playful Symphony No. 8, “one of the shortest, weirdest, but most compelling symphonies of the 19th century” (The Guardian). And finally, award-winning Canadian pianist Angela Cheng returns to Symphony Nova Scotia for a dazzling performance of Chopin’s poetic, rapturous Piano Concerto No. 1.
