Join this Choose-Your-Own-Adventure Comics Workshop, no experience required!
Choose-Your-Own-Adventures are a great way to explore fictional worlds, discuss serious ideas, or just tell funny stories! This workshop will provide you with an understanding of branching-path storytelling and give you an opportunity to create your own choose-your-own-adventure zines. By the end of the class, you’ll have multiple copies of your comic and the knowledge of how to reproduce more!
A $10 materials fee includes all supplies and use of equipment.
Please note: We require all visitors to the Soapbox to wear masks, regardless of their vaccination status. The instructor reserves the right to ask you to leave if you do not comply.
About the instructor
Bread Tarleton is an award-winning cartoonist and zine-maker based in Philadelphia. They are a graduate of The Center for Cartoon Studies, where they taught classes in Zine-making and Comics Publication, and received an MFA in Cartooning. They are currently a fellow at The Soapbox Community Print Shop and the book editor at A.B.O. Comix, a publisher that puts out the work of Incarcerated LGBTQ+ people. Their next book Soften the Blow is coming out with Fieldmouse Press in 2024.
Cost
$40 for Current Soapbox Members/$45 for Non-Members
Plus a $10 materials fee that covers paper, thread, and use of all tools and equipment.
