Chip Prince is happy to return to his Palm Springs home after 22 years in New York City. He served as Associate Conductor on the National Tour of Newsies and can be heard playing piano in the Broadway HD production. Originally from New Hampshire, Chip attended Brigham Young University in Utah and music-directed such shows as Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Annie, and Damn Yankees at Sundance Summer Theatre in the 1980s. New York and National Tour conducting credits include Les Misérables, Mary Poppins, Ragtime, The Fantasticks, Deaf West’s Big River, The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess, Coram Boy, and Baz Luhrmann's La Bohème. For three years Chip served as the accompanist for the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus. He also dabbles in folk dancing and dance accompaniment, plays the euphonium for fun, and owns three(!) melodicas. Chip misses collaborating in cabaret shows with his New York singer friends and is tickled to be asked to partner with Dru in tonight’s show!

Dru Rutledge is honored and elated to be making her Palm Springs debut performance here at the Palm Springs Cultural Center. Dru is a Portland, Oregon based singer who is in demand across the United States for her "rich-voiced tone" and "vocal fireworks". Equally at home on the stage for opera, music theatre, and cabarets - Dru has had the pleasure of portraying many of the most beloved women in the golden age of musicals and beyond. Most notably, Dru has received praise, and won awards, for her portrayal of Amalia Balash in She Loves Me, Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof, Abigail Adams in 1776, Marian Paroo in the Music Man, Julie Jordan in Carousel, Laurey in Oklahoma!, and Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls. In addition to the many roles she has played on stage, Dru is a sought-after soloist, who has performed many times with the New World Symphony in Miami, the Oregon Symphony for the Oregon Premiere of Distant Worlds, as well as her personal favorite - her many appearances with the Portland Gay Men’s Chorus. Recently Dru has found success, and great personal pleasure, from creating queer concerts and cabarets. Dru is so thankful to the Palm Springs Cultural Center, Bob Mensel, and Chip Prince for this exciting collaboration. And to her sister, Kasia - I kinda sorta care for you.
