Chinese Ink Painting Workshop – Plum Blossom (梅花)
Come join us at Chá-Fé for a relaxing and creative experience in our Chinese Ink Painting Workshop! Learn the traditional art of using ink and water to create beautiful and serene paintings.
We are excited to host a professional teacher, Ling from @ings.space (Ins), who will guide us through the basic skills of Chinese ink painting.
This session will focus on painting plum blossoms (梅花) — a powerful symbol of resilience, hope, and new beginnings in Chinese culture.

🌸 Plum Blossom (梅花): A Symbol of Strength & New Beginnings
In Chinese culture, plum blossoms are a beautiful symbol of strength, hope, and fresh starts. They bloom in the cold of late winter, reminding us that even in difficult times, something beautiful can grow. Plum blossoms also represent elegance, purity, and the promise of brighter days ahead.
Ling will gently guide you step by step through traditional Chinese ink painting techniques and styles. She will demonstrate how to paint the lovely plum blossom (梅花) during the class, and each participant will create their own hand-painted artwork on a decorative Chinese board to take home — a meaningful and special piece made by you.
👩🎨 About the Teacher
Originally from Taiwan, Ling (Yi Ling Lai) is an international artist now based in London, with over 10 years of experience in Chinese calligraphy and ink painting. She has collaborated with leading institutions including:
• The British Museum
• Prada
• The Museum of London
• Camden Council
Known for her warm teaching style and mastery of technique, Ling consistently receives glowing 10/10 reviews from her students.
