Celebrate traditions of the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival with the Midwest Chinese Academy at The Iowa Children’s Museum! This immersive experience brings ancient customs to life with a storytime with Dr. Donglin Chai and hands-on activities that highlight the festival’s rich cultural heritage.
Dr. Donglin Chai will have her storytime and Chinese Speak! lesson at 11:00 am
Hands-on activities incorporating Dragon Boat Festival traditions, such as making Zongzi (rice dumplings) and on-land boat activities, will be available throughout the morning and are included with museum admission.
Please note: Activities from 9-10 a.m. are available during our Member-Only Hours. We open to the public at 10:00 a.m. and invite ALL little learners to join in the fun from 10 a.m. to noon.
