Chinatown Photography Workshop w/ Jun Tagai

Jun, founder and head photographer of blanc Photography, brings a distinguished track record in the art, commercial, and bridal industries, both in the U.S. and internationally, including Japan. With a wealth of experience, Jun will serve as the instructor, sharing valuable insights and expertise with students.

Through this workshop we will focus on both mastering fundamental knowledge and practical application, he will teach you the secrets and know-how for not just taking photos, but preserving them.

Participation Requirements:

• Open to individuals of all genders, educational backgrounds, and experience levels.
• Eager to learn and grow in the field of photography.
• Anyone interested in photography and equipped with a DSLR or mirrorless camera is welcome.

Objectives:

This photography workshop is divided into three sections and is open to everyone. It’s ideal for those who want to improve their photography skills or simply learn the essentials in a relaxed environment.

01 - Basic Knowledge

Gain a foundational understanding of photography and equipment. You'll learn essential information about camera usage, how cameras work, lens functions, and tips for purchasing gear, equipping you with valuable knowledge for your photography journey.

02 - Photo Walk

Engage in an outdoor lesson where you’ll learn practical skills such as reading natural light, utilizing light and shadow, and photographing subjects. This hands-on experience allows you to apply the knowledge from the first lesson while capturing photos in real-time!

03 - Feedback | Q&A

Participate in a roundtable discussion where we’ll review the photos you've taken. Jun will provide constructive feedback, sharing insights on the necessary skills and mindset for improvement, followed by a Q&A session for any remaining questions.
