Intellectual property rights (IPR) are crucial for protecting innovation and creativity worldwide. In China, a country that has emerged as an economic powerhouse over the past few decades, the importance of IPR has become increasingly significant. China’s transformation from a manufacturing-driven economy to a knowledge-based economy has led to a growing need for a robust legal framework to safeguard intellectual property.

In recent years, China has made substantial efforts to strengthen its IPR legislation, partly due to pressure from international trade partners and the rising domestic demand for better protection of inventions, trademarks, and copyrights. These developments have resulted in a complex and dynamic IPR landscape in China, where businesses encounter both opportunities and challenges.

In this interview, we speak with two experts in the field of intellectual property rights in China. They will share their insights on the current state of affairs, the changes in regulations, and the practical implications for companies operating in or doing business with China. Their expertise provides valuable perspectives on how companies can best protect and leverage their intellectual property in one of the world’s largest markets.
