Nach der Sommerpause geht es weiter mit einer neuen Runde "Chills & Fever" - als Schmankerl diesmal mit der live-Band "Jive Patrol":Nacheiner größeren Umbaupause hat sich die Jive Patrol wieder zusammengefunden und steht weiterhin für ihre authentische Mischung aus Rhythm & Blues, Rock'n'Roll und Swing der 1950er Jahre. Die 6-köpfige Besetzung um Sängerin Martha Miller versteht es, das Wilde und Ungehobelte des Rhythm & Blues und Rock'n'Roll mit der Eleganz des Swing gekonnt zu verbinden. Der Gesang wird dabei begleitet durch die genre-typischen Instrumente Saxophon, Piano, Kontrabass, Gitarre und Schlagzeug. Ganz egal, ob man tanzen oder einfach nur zuhören möchte bei Boogie, Swing und Jive - dabei still zu sitzen, ist fast unmöglich.
Und als i-Tüpferl wird noch Gast-DJ Mark Armstrong für heiße Scheiben sorgen:
I began to Dee Jay in the mid-1970s at the Boys Club in Newton Aycliffe, Co. Durham, England. Aged twenty-one I moved to Sunderland, where I worked for four years in the pre-internet times as a Radio presenter. I then moved to Newcastle, and in both cities, I set up some clubs and played at festivals.
Since day one I am the Events Coordinator at the Rhythm Riot festival, and occasionally Dee Jay, and in Germany, I am the festival planner and Dee Jay for the Walldorf Rock ‘n’ Roll Weekend.
Having finished five years of full-time study I departed England and began a new life in South Germany, and life changed in another way, I became a father. As a stay-at-home parent, this prevents me from travelling too often to events far from home; nonetheless, I use my time wisely.
I combine my role as a full-time father, with my employment as the Senior Researcher and release planner and compiler of albums for the Rockstar, Ireland family of labels; Rhythm Bomb Records, Koko-Mojo Records, Atomicat Records, Pan American Records, and Richard Weize Archives. I also write a short story for each edition of the German Yeehaaw magazine.
Musically I play a good mixture of all styles but tend to lean towards classic Rock ‘n’ Roll, Rockabilly and Rhythm & Blues. At home, my listening pleasure is Honky Tonk and the early years of Country and Western music.
