About this Event
This July, we invite families, caregivers, and community members to join us for a special three-part Children’s Grief Healing CommUNITY event, designed to provide age-appropriate grief support and a safe space for children navigating loss. The summer series before our Children’s Grief Awareness Month event in November, this series will foster collective healing, meaningful conversations, and creative expression for grieving children.
Each session will be tailored to specific age groups to address their unique understanding of grief:
- Ageds 5-8: Understanding Feelings of Loss Using stories, art, and play to help young children express their emotions and understand loss.
- Ages 9-12: Expressing Grief Through Creativity Providing a space for open dialogue, creative activities, and tools to navigate feelings of grief.
- Ages 13-17: Honoring and Remembering Together Encouraging peer connection, reflection, and personal storytelling as they process their experiences.
Each event is age group specific.
We will also provide some helpful tips for parents/caregivers to support children with grief.
