Join the Young Lit Stars’ takeover of Dalston CLR James Library for the Children’s Black Book Fair!
About this Event

As part of the Baldwin 100 Festival, Young Lit Stars are hosting the Children’s Black Book Fair 2024 with a full takeover of Dalston CLR James Library!

Join young writers under 16 who will be showcasing their books and talking about their author journey, workshops in Designing Book Covers, Colouring Black History Heroes and Sheroes, Creating Adinkra symbols and writing a non fiction book profile or participate in a Seminar in: How to write a book? Publishing a book or How to improve your child’s reading age? There will be competitions, freebies and light refreshments on the day. The first 100 children in attendance will receive a CBBF Goody Bag.

The Children's Black Book Fair UK is part of the Baldwin 100 Festival, which celebrates the centenary of James Baldwin’s birth, and commemorates his visit to Hackney in 1985. Hackney Libraries are proud to be collaborating with Black History Walks, Hackney CVS, Jacaranda Books, Rio Cinema, Way Wive Wordz, Words of Colour and Young Lit Stars to bring you a fantastic programme from July to September 2024.
