Meet Naomi Lang-Strong, the first Native American woman to compete at the Winter Olympics!Heardlings, join us at the Heard Museum for a family-friendly day full of excitement, learning, and creativity as we celebrate the spirit of the Winter Games. With the Olympics in full swing, we’re highlighting the incredible achievements of Indigenous athletes, and we’ve got a very special guest in store for you.
Naomi Lang-Strong (Karuk Tribe of Northern California) made history in 2002 as the first Native American woman to compete in the Winter Olympics — and now she’s here at the Heard Museum. Naomi will share her inspiring story, and even better, she’ll showcase her ice dancing for visitors.
