Parents (and Grandparents) can ensure that their child is supported at home and school. At least 1 in 5 school-aged children is affected by a mental health condition. The two most common conditions among children and adolescents are anxiety followed by depression ,but children can have other difficulties. These include attention deficit- hyperactivity, autism spectrum disorder and eating disorders.Faith communities can be an incredible source of strength and support for individuals and families dealing with a mental illness diagnosis, so NAMI has developed an intentional outreach designed to give more information about mental illness and about programs offered by NAMI.
