Welcome to our comprehensive Childbirth Education Class. This class is designed to empower you and your birth partner with the knowledge and confidence needed for a transformative birth experience.
We have two options: a one-day Saturday class or a two evenings series.
Led by some of Omaha’s most seasoned birth professionals, Shannon and Andrea. Together, with their wealth of experience and knowledge, will guide you through the intricacies of prenatal care, labor stages, comfort measures, medical interventions, breastfeeding, newborn care, and so much more.
In this group class setting we will go beyond just providing information; it’s here to help you truly understand childbirth, build valuable connections, and equip you with everything you need for a confident and informed birth.
We hope you will join us in this step towards parenthood with knowledge, readiness, and a sense of community. Your path to parenthood begins here.
Class topics will include:
The labor process that includes stages of labor,
Anatomy and physiology of pregnancy,
Prenatal care and nutrition,
Common discomforts and how to manage them
Emotional and psychological aspects of pregnancy,
Early, active, and transitional labor,
Signs of labor and when to go to the hospital,
Coping techniques for contractions, progression,
Natural pain relief methods (breathing, movement, visualization),
Medical pain relief options (epidurals, IV medications),
Benefits and risks of pain management choices,
Birth plans and communicating preferences with healthcare providers, pushing techniques and positions, medical interventions (inductions, C-sections)
