Nominated for Best Musical Theatre/Cabaret show at the 2022 Sydney Fringe Festival, this new work by Elisa Riddington examines the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of the “ordinary people” in our communities. The single mother trying to balance it all – The desperate souls looking for the promise of redemption – The smiling faces wearing a public mask to conceal their private pain - The fanatics – The phonies, and the fraudulent.
Told through stories of lived experience and a heterogeneous mix of songs, Child of Sunday examines what brings people together, lending a voice to the broken and the quietly brave. This is a show applauding the people we all know who do not seek fame or notoriety yet have a profound impact on shaping our community and bringing colour and depth to our world in the constant search for connection and hope.
