A Hidden Chef's Counter Above Edison's Pizza Kitchen
Hidden above Edison's Pizza Kitchen, behind an unassuming door, is Chika (地下)—Japanese for "underground."
Part chef's counter, part late-night lounge, Chika is an intimate 10-seat dining experience inspired by Tokyo's hidden bars and neighborhood izakayas.
Guests enter through Edison's Pizza Kitchen before being quietly led upstairs into a candlelit room where deep red walls, good music, and exceptional food set the tone for the evening.
This isn't traditional fine dining, and it isn't a formal omakase. It's a more relaxed, social take on a chef's tasting—bringing together incredible seafood, modern Japanese technique, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to order one more drink and stay a little longer.
THE EXPERIENCE
Each seating features a 12-course tasting created by Chef Ryan Endrian and Chef Kwan San, the culinary team behind Kyuu Juu and Sushi Kuwahata, whose work has helped shape Cleveland's modern Japanese dining scene.
Expect a progression centered around thoughtfully prepared nigiri and seasonal small plates featuring:

No two evenings are exactly alike.
THE SPACE
Chika occupies the former upstairs home of Lava Lounge—reimagined while honoring the intimate, tucked-away character that made the space a neighborhood favorite for decades.
Before or after dinner, settle into the upstairs lounge for a craft cocktail, sake, Japanese beer, or a quiet conversation. Chika isn't designed to rush you. The evening begins at the counter but doesn't have to end there.

Experience: $125 per guest
Reservation: A $50 reservation payment is collected through Eventbrite to secure your seat. The remaining $75 per guest will be due at the conclusion of your dining experience.

• Chika is currently operating as a limited pilot concept, with select dates and limited availability.
The Chika experience is $125 per guest.
To reserve your seat, $50 per person is collected through Eventbrite at the time of booking.
The remaining $75 per guest will be due at the conclusion of your dining experience and may be paid by cash or credit card.
Because seating is limited to just 10 guests, all Eventbrite reservation payments are non-refundable unless the event is canceled by Chika.
