The Park itself has no entrance fees.
This will be a sign up with a maximum of 35 Jeeps. ( Registered Crew Members Only )
Brief Description of the battle: On September 18-20th 1863 the Union forces of The Army of the Cumberland would come to battle with the Confederate forces of The Army of Tennessee. This battle would turn out to be the largest battle in the Western Theatre of the Civil War and the second largest in the entire war with over 32,000 casualties that would be second only to Gettysburg in its ferocity and bloodshed. Come join us on this beautiful battlefield tour to soak up some history and meet new Jeep folk.
Description: This will be a surface ride through beautiful Chickamauga Battlefield. We will be meeting at the lower parking lot at the Chickamauga visitors center. We will be stopping at various tour stops throughout the park. The tour will be led by a former volunteer at the park that can answer questions about the battle and will provide interpretation at the various tour stops. After the completion of the tour and BYO picnic lunch the group will return to the parks visitor center where we can tour the parks exhibits including the very impressive Fuller Gun Collection.
After the completion of the ride and tour, anyone who would like can join us for a run to a local watering hole to meet new friends and discuss what else…. Jeeps!
