M.A.D.D. RHYTHMS PRESENTS 2025 CHICAGO TAP SUMMIT: THE LEGACY OF RESISTANCE

CHICAGO – M.A.D.D. Rhythms, Chicago’s premier tap collective, is proud to announce the 2025 Chicago Tap Summit, taking place October 3–5 at the Harold Washington Cultural Center (4701 S. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive). This year’s theme, "The Legacy of Resistance," highlights tap dance’s profound role in storytelling, liberation, and cultural resilience.

The Summit will offer a comprehensive program, including:

• Classes for all levels: Taught by M.A.D.D. Rhythms faculty and esteemed guest artists.
• Artist talks and panels: Exploring tap as a form of cultural commentary and a driver for equity.
• Community engagement and youth programming: Featuring "Grown & Sexy" adult tap classes, Star Dixon’s Tap for Tots, and scholarships for all Chicago Public Schools (CPS) dance program participants.
• World premiere of WONDER: A commanding new work debuting on Saturday, October 4.

Saturday, October 4 at 7:30 p.m. | WONDER

In his directorial debut, 21-year-old Caleb Jackson introduces WONDER, a choreographic exploration of how feeling, groove, and curiosity manifest through tap. The piece features music direction from Thaddeus Tukes, inviting musicians to improvise and compose in real-time, creating a dynamic conversation between sound and motion.
