Chicago Kurdish Film Festival

The Kurdish Cultural Center of Illinois is proud to present the inaugural Chicago Kurdish Film Festival, a two-day celebration of Kurdish culture, heritage, and storytelling through the medium of cinema. This groundbreaking event aims to immerse audiences in the richness and diversity of Kurdish narratives.

The festival will showcase a curated selection of narrative and documentary films—both features and shorts—created by Kurdish filmmakers from both Kurdistan and the diaspora. This year’s theme explores Kurdish history, conflict, traditions, and contemporary issues.

This film festival stands as a testament to the power of storytelling, not only as an art form but also as an act of resistance. The compelling personal narratives presented will offer audiences a deeper understanding of Kurdistan, infused with nuance and poignancy.
