Chicago Foto League: Panel Discussion
About this Event
Join us at the Leica Gallery Chicago on Saturday, August 29, to learn about the Chicago Foto League, the city’s newest photography school and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
The founding members, Jonathan Michael Castillo, Paul D'Amato, Lali Khalid, Colleen Plumb, and Dylan Yarbrough will be sharing insights into their individual photographic practices, previewing upcoming classes and workshops, and speaking openly about the concerns and challenges tied to the mission of the organization.
Taught by the founding members, the Chicago Foto League will offer a range of documentary photography courses this fall at Filter Photo Space.
Don't miss this opportunity to learn more about the organization and its upcoming programs. An informational presentation will begin at 3pm followed by a chance to meet and speak with the founding artists.
The Chicago Foto League’s mission is to cultivate a community of lens-based artists who use their practice to spark dialogue and shape how we see the world. The league’s foundational meetings distilled this ethos into the motto: “Bearing Witness, Building Community.”
