Join us for the 2026 Chicago Footworkology Awards Show, a powerful tribute to the legacy, artistry, and community impact of the pioneers who have shaped Chicago Footwork.
This year's celebration recognizes the outstanding women serving as lead teachers for the 2026 Chicago Footworkology: Queens Edition summer camp, held August 10–14 at Rhythmhood x Snipes Studio. Their leadership represents generations of knowledge, mentorship, and excellence, inspiring the next generation of dancers while preserving the culture's rich history.
We are also proud to honor the original generation of Chicago Footwork pioneers documented throughout the year through the Chicago Dance History Project in partnership with The Newberry Library, Creative Netwerk, and ChicagoFootworkDotCom. These oral history interviews preserve the stories, experiences, and cultural knowledge of the artists who helped build Chicago Footwork and ensure their legacy continues to educate and inspire future generations.
In addition, we will recognize community leaders and organizations whose long-term dedication to preserving, documenting, archiving, and advancing Chicago Footwork has helped elevate the culture on both local and global stages.
This unforgettable evening will feature a red carpet, awards ceremony, live performances, special presentations, and music by DJ T-Rell. Guests are encouraged to dress in semi-formal or formal attire as we come together to celebrate the artists, educators, pioneers, and community members whose work continues to strengthen Chicago Footwork.
Admission is free, but registration is limited. We encourage guests to arrive early to allow time for parking and check-in.

All donations from this event will directly support Creative Netwerk youth programs across Chicago's South and West Sides, providing year-round Chicago Footwork, dance, DJ education, music production, wellness, leadership, workforce development, and community-building opportunities for young people.
