Chicago Dachshund Lovers: 2026 Dachshund Derby
About this Event
2026 Dachshund Derby benefitting Dachshund World Charities
Saturday, August 8th, 2026 from 1pm-4pm.
All dogs who wish to race must pre-register in order to participate.
Races will include: Puppy (Under 3 years old), Adult (3-10 years old), Senior (Over 10 years old), Non-Dachshund Wannabe's (Dachshund Mixes)
- There will be multiple race heats based on registration.
- Winners from each heat will then race each other in order to be crowned their category winner.
- Each category winner will then race in the final GRAND PRIZE race!
- Winners from each heat will then be eligible to race at Chicago Bears NFL Halftime show at Soldie Field!
NOTE: You do not need to purchase a spot for humans or other dogs that are only spectating.
This year we are happy to have the return of a custom Chicago Dachshund Lovers Dachshund Derby TSHIRT that our friends, and fellow dachshund lovers, from TeeService have designed.
The purchase of these shirts will be an added way to raise money for our charity partner while doing it in style!

Wiener-Mix Race (1:40pm - ish)
Info: For dogs that are not full blood dachshund, but have a mix breed. Multiple heats will be held based on registration.

Senior Dachshund Race (1:50pm - ish)
Info: For Dachshunds 10+ years old. Multiple heats will be held based on registration.

Adult Dachshund Race
Info: For Dachshunds 3-10 years old. Multiple heats will be held based on registration
🕑: 02:30 PM - 03:30 PM
Puppy Dachshund Race
Info: For Dachshunds under 3 years old. Multiple heats will be held based on registration. In the past this age category has yielded the most participants.
