About this Event
Grisha Goryachev - Chicago Artopia International Guitar Series
Join us for a breathtaking performance by internationally acclaimed guitarist Grisha Goryachev, celebrated for his extraordinary sensitivity, dazzling virtuosity, and rare ability to bridge the worlds of classical and flamenco guitar.
A native of St. Petersburg, Russia, Grisha is one of the few musicians today reviving the lost art of solo flamenco guitar in the concert hall—an electrifying tradition once led by legends like Sabicas and Ramón Montoya. His performances combine the fiery rhythms of flamenco with the expressive depth of classical music, offering an unforgettable musical experience.
A former child prodigy who began performing publicly at age nine, Grisha has captivated audiences around the globe—from the UN headquarters in New York to royal courts in Europe. After a personal invitation to perform for Paco de Lucía, he earned his U.S. visa for “Extraordinary Ability” and has since become a treasured figure in the international guitar scene.
His ear-transcribed flamenco repertoire spans over six hours and includes works by flamenco icons such as Paco de Lucía, Vicente Amigo, and Manolo Sanlúcar. Grisha’s playing is rich in color, emotion, and tradition, yet marked by fresh interpretation and technical brilliance.
Whether you're a classical guitar enthusiast, a flamenco aficionado, or simply someone who loves world-class live music, this is a rare chance to experience a true master at work.
Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind evening of passion, precision, and musical poetry.
