The Cool Place's First-Ever Chess Tournament!?Join us on Sunday, September 22nd for an exciting day of chess at The Cool Place, co-hosted with the Columbus Chess Club! ✨Whether you're a seasoned player or love the game, this event is for you!
?Tournament Details:
?This is a non-rated event.
?Format: Double Round-Robin with Knockout
Each player competes in a group of 4, playing twice against each opponent—once with white and once with black. The top 2 from each group advance to knockout rounds, with the final 4 players battling it out in a round-robin.
?Time Control: 10|5 (10 minutes per player with a 5-second increment per move).
?Entry Fee: $30 (Half of the entry fees go to the prize pool, with cash payouts to the top 3 players.)
?Player Limit: Limited to 20 players. Call or walk in to The Cool Place to prepay and secure your spot.
?Prize: Top 3 players will get cash payout!
?Location: 7830 Veterans Parkway, Suite E, Columbus, GA, 31909 (The Cool Place - Columbus)
?Schedule:
Doors Open: 9:00 AM
Round 1 Start: 10:00 AM (Arrive by 9:30 am at the latest.)
