Meet local author & illustrator Jarett Sitter at this special Summer Edition of Junior Book Club! We'll be reading his debut graphic novel Ready, Cassette, Go!

About the book: A debut graphic novel series with retro vibes, summer hangs, and new friendships.

Cassette City is the coolest place to hang out: at the arcade or the skate park, at the monster movie marathon, or snagging your favorite band's newest album at the music store. On cassette tape, of course! When a wisecracking raccoon, an easygoing mushroom, and a robot with big feelings recruit the standoffish new girl Melody Li to help them win the Rock Your Socks battle of the bands, Melody might just discover that these misfit musicians are the friends she really needs. After all, life is better when you band together!

Ready, Cassette, Go! is the first book in this imaginative new middle grade graphic novel series by debut author-illustrator Jarett Sitter. A fun, accessible new series about friendship, community and trying things outside of your comfort zone.

This is a recurring club that will meet three times in August—on August 18th, 20th, and 21st—from 2–4pm each session. Jarett Sitter will join the group for the session on the 21st, to answer questions about the book and lead the group in a drawing activity.

A $30 registration fee is required, and includes a paperback copy of the book, snacks, and activities.

Ticket price is per participant.

Junior Book Club is recommended for readers age 8 and up.
