Practical tips to help people on the scene, how to reduce harm and a look at the systems failing to catch people when they fall
About this Event

Chemsex and sexualised drug use: Where are we, and what can I do to help?

Join us in person for a live recording of a special episode of QueerAF's new podcast series 'Catch Us When We Fall', investigating the systems failing gay, bi and queer men, ten years on from Stephen Port's sentencing.

The series 'Catch Us When We Fall' examines the police, healthcare, dating apps, Pr*son and probation services and holds power to account, puts lived experience first, and talks about sexualised drug use without stigma, shame or judgement.

In this bonus episode we'll examine:

  • Practical tips for safety and reducing harm for those using drugs for sex, including how to support your friends and loved ones
  • Why there is so little information about Trans+ people and sexualised drug use
  • Have the police learned anything since Port, and the evidence that suggests - perhaps very little
  • How can we talk about chemsex, without shame, judgement and driving people we care about away

QueerAF journalist and host of Catch Us When We Fall, Rory Boyle, sits down with:

  • Kenna Caldwell - The Love Tank's Sex Drugs and Care For All lead
  • More guests to be announced

After the discussion, we'll open up to questions, so come curious!
The event is being run in collaboration with the Love Tank CIC and QueerAF CIC. All ticket sales and donations will be split 50/50 between both organisations to support the event remaining free for all.

We've been giving creatives their first commissions since 2016 with our . Now we're helping them build a media career and working with them to change the industry.

The UK media industry only thrives when it’s bursting with queer talent. Only a media industry that represents hires, and understands us – can help shift the narrative on being queer in the UK.
