Join FUMC for the 2024 Elizabeth Prothro Organ Concert on Sunday, October 6 at 3:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary at First United Methodist Church. This event is free to attend. Nursery care is available for infants six weeks old through toddlers age 4.In September of 2004, the Annual Elizabeth Prothro Organ Concert Series was established to bring world-famous organists to Wichita Falls, Texas. Every year in the fall, FUMC invites a world-renowned organist to give a special concert on our 2003 Garland Pipe Organ.
The Elizabeth Prothro Organ Concert Series is excited to announce Chelsea Chen as the 2024 Organist. Chelsea Chen’s dynamic playing has taken her to the far corners of the world. Her solo concerts offer a unique mix of traditional organ repertoire along with piano/orchestral transcriptions and contemporary music. The Los Angeles Times has praised her “rare musicality” and “lovely lyrical grandeur,” and a compositional style that is “charming” and “irresistible.”
