Chelmsford Takeover is a brand new event landing in Chelmsford High Street on Saturday 18 March 2023. The event is curated by Chelmsford For You in partnership with Essex Cosplayers, in aid of raising funds for Little Havens Hospice, a fantastic local charity offering the best possible palliative and supportive care for children.
Get ready for Chelmsford city centre to come to life with familiar heroes, characters and show cars from the BIG screen and TV, located across multiple High Street locations, including:
COSPLAY GROUPS
Walkabout characters from Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, Doctor Who, Ghostbusters and more.
SHOW CARS
You’ve seen them on the big screen and TV, now it’s your chance to see them up close in Chelmsford. We have a range of show cars lined up including the DeLorean from Back to the Future, The Ghostbusters Ecto1, The Tumbler and Gotham Police car from Batman and Lightning McQueen Himself. Plus a whole other host of additional cars you’ll recognise and love.
MEET AND GREET
There will be many some great actors from TV and Film that will be attending and available for photo and signing opportunities. This include stars films Star Wars, Superman, Dr Who, Batman, James Bond, Quadrophenia, Blake 7 and more.
ACTIVITIES AND WORKSHOPS
There are a range of activities and workshops lined up to immerse you even more. This includes Lightsabre training, Gaming Bus, Superhero Cape Making, Hero/ Villain Facepainting, Model Sculpting Workshop, Market stalls, and Cosplay fancy dress competitions.
We’ve also teamed up with Essex County Council who have kindly agreed to offer FREE BUS JOURNEYS on their Park & Ride services to anyone dressed up on the day.
Dress up and join in the fun whilst helping support an amazing local children’s charity.
