Have you ever wanted something so badly you would do anything it takes to get it?
What drives passion to the point of self-destruction, bad choices, or just sheer stupidity?
Are you, too, a seagull?
Centered on the character of Nina from Anton Chekov’s 1895 play “The Seagull”, we embark on a dynamic exploration of thwarted ambition and desire.
Through a blend of performance styles from telenovelas to X-factor auditions to contemporary performance art, the deconstruction of Nina’s character and the text she embodies will be fuelled by desire as we explore Anton Chekhov’s Nina through Michael Chekhov’s acting techniques. Through this innovative approach, we invite audiences to journey into the heart of Nina’s world, where passion and ambition collide in unexpected ways.
