Event Photos

Thursday, May 18th: The Pleasure Principle. Chef Christina nods, winks, and bows to the cuisines of the West Indies, to be nourished and to remember what is beautiful and brutal about the diasporic cookery borne out of necessity and an abundance mentality, despite the lack of resources.

Thursday, June 15th: SUP! Street Food. An ode to Southeast Asian street food through hustle, fashion, art and events, SUP! Streetfood grew into an unexpected passion between two friends who shared their love for reviving a street food culture. Removing the kitchen wall and roof- we will show you that every bite tastes better when you can ask, annoy, hug, watch the person making your food. Specializing in southeast asian eats but also an international palette to take you where you want to go.

Thursday, July 20th: Biri Bibi, a food popup started by LA-native Sarah Alikhan in Berlin, Germany. Growing up in a Hyderabadi Muslim household in Monterey Park, love and warmth was primarily communicated through the palate. Biri Bibi extends this type of love and warmth through bringing homemade Hyderabadi eats (through a Californian diasporic lens) to various cities around the globe.

Thursday, August 3rd: Tacos Sincero, a future restaurant inspired by Chino Latino flavors in Oakland, California. Chef Sincere Justice makes Asian-Latino cuisine inspired by his upbringing in Los Angeles as well as street food experiences abroad in Asia and Latin America. Tacos Sincero has been featured in numerous publications such as the SF Chronicle. In 2022, Tacos Sincero was named as the “Top Tacos in the East Bay” as well as “Eight Best Places to get a Tostada” in the SF Chronicle.

Thursday, August 17th: Edith’s Pie, started as a thanksgiving pop-up in Oakland in 2019 by Mike Raskin after leaving his chef job in Chicago. It grew to become weekly pop-ups during 2020, and is in process of finding a permanent home. What started as a way of staying creative in off time became a calling and a labor of love.
