Cheese tasting with Emma Young​

Emma Young is a Cheese Consultant & Author also known as "The Cheese Explorer". Her first book The Cheese Wheel is a guide to the flavours found in cheeses and the best drinks to pair with them. Emma has 15 years of experience in all aspects of the cheese industry, as well as being an international cheese judge and a teacher in both France and the UK. ​

As part of our Focus on Fungi season, Emma joins us to explore the world of mould in cheese. ​

Mould is a fast-spreading fungus that can make its way onto most of our foods, whether we want it to or not. For some foods, such a cured meats, the right kind of mould is essential to ensure maximum flavour when eaten, whereas other foods are best avoided the moment mould appears as it is a sign of spoilage.

Emma will show that both are true when it comes to the production and consumption of cheese. ​​Join her for a delicious (we promise) evening of cheese and wine, as she delves into the subject.
