An introduction to the main styles of cheese: From bloomy and buttery to sharp and crystalline, we’ll break down how different cheeses are made and how that translates into flavor, texture, and aroma.
A guided tasting of 7 Pennsylvania cheeses: Together, we’ll taste our way through a curated selection of seven Pennsylvania cheeses, each chosen to highlight a distinct style and story. Think of it as a delicious map of the state, where every stop reveals something new about milk, craft, and terroir.
Basic sensory evaluation skills: Along the way, you’ll build practical sensory skills. You’ll learn how to taste with intention, put words to what you’re experiencing, and trust your own palate. No fancy vocabulary required, just a willingness to slow down and notice.
An introduction to buying, storing and serving cheese: We’ll round out the experience with the everyday essentials: how to shop for cheese with confidence, how to store it so it stays at its best, and how to serve it in a way that lets it shine.
The workshop will include basic terminology for common cheese terms and describing flavor profiles.
