In November 1984 Dead or alive teamed up with Stock Aitken Waterman for the first time releasing the iconic "You spin me round (Like a record)" which saw the single climb the UK charts taking 17 weeks to reach #1 on the UK singles chart in March 1985. 40 years to the week the single was "Top of the pops" on the UK charts we are celebrating this SAW40 anniversary with a "FULL ON" Stock Aitken Waterman party on Friday 7th March 2025 at The Royal Vauxhall Tavern, plus with "The Legends Of Pop" Stock Aitken Waterman being awarded the Southwark Blue Plaque scheme by a landslide of votes which will see the blue plaque take pride of place in The Vineyard, which was the home of the iconic PWL - Hit Factory, it truly will be a celebration!!!
So come and "Step back in time" for a night playing all your favourite songs and artists from The Hit Factory including Kylie, Jason, Rick Astley, Bananarama, Hazell Dean, Divine, Sinitta, Sonia, Big Fun, Cliff Richard, Mel & Kim, Sabrina, Samantha Fox, Donna Summer and of course Dead or alive whose success with Mike, Matt and Pete included two Top 40 albums "Youthquake" and "Mad, bad and dangerous to know" which produced eight UK singles, six of which went Top 40 with the group achieving worldwide success which continued throughout the 80's, 90's and 2000's.
