Chec-In SCREENING & EXHIBIT
About this Event
38109 Village and The Collective proudly present Chec-In, a special film showing and exhibition taking place at the Medicine Factory in Memphis. This experience is more than a screening — it is a conversation, an atmosphere, and a reflection of brotherhood, vulnerability, and the importance of mental health among men.
Directed collaboratively by Matt Robinson, Myles Glover, Devin Martin, and Richard Echols, Chec-In explores the safe spaces men create for one another in everyday moments, specifically, the culture of playing video games together. Within laughter, competition, and casual conversation lies something deeper: honesty, emotional release, and support.
The film centers on the idea that many men carry silent battles internally while feeling pressure to handle life alone. A simple “chec-in” with friends can become the difference between isolation and feeling understood. Through natural conversation and authentic interactions, the film captures how brotherhood can serve as a form of emotional survival.
The showing at the Medicine Factory will feature multiple screenings of the short film alongside an immersive exhibition experience that represents the creative vision of The Collective. Guests will have the opportunity to engage with exclusive visuals, merchandise, behind-the-scenes content, and limited physical DVD copies connected to the project and the “500 Over 1,000,000” movement, a campaign emphasizing ownership, community support, and the value of independent creators over chasing online numbers.
Chec-In represents more than a film. It is a statement about collaboration, vulnerability, and the power of creators coming together with a shared purpose. The event invites the community to witness a story that reflects real conversations, real emotions, and real people.
