Participants for the weekend’s Hot Air Balloon Rally will be on hand for a meet and greet with the crowd. Spectators are invited to come to each balloon and meet the pilot/owners and learn about their lighter than air crafts. Some of our pilots will need local help to launch and recover the balloon for the weekend flights. Individuals who are familiar with the local roads and terrain are encouraged to help the balloon chase crews with tracking and recovery of the balloons at the eventual landing site. This will be a good time to link up with one of those pilots
Activities start at 7:00 with a DJ, inflatables, food trucks, and concessions available, but you'll want to come early to get a good spot! . At dusk (around 8:30) is the main event. The balloons will be inflated in place. Spectators will be able to help hold down the balloons while they are illuminated against the evening sky with the flight burners. Quiz your favorite balloon pilot about his craft in this up close and personal opportunity. Bring the family and a camera. You won’t want to miss a second of this spectacle!
