About this Event
Chattitude returns with an event for Remembrance weekend with A Century of Remembrance told in 3 short films, and a book review.
Hintlesham resident, former BBC broadcaster and keen local historian, Gerald Main, shares the century long story of Hintlesham war memorial, from the day it was first unveiled to the day the stone mason chiselled the last name onto its granite stone in the summer of 2020. Gerald will be showing 3 short films which tell the story of the memorial and the backgrounds of some of our local men who made the ultimate sacrifice for king and country.
Another former local broadcaster and resident of Chattisham, Phil Archer, will share the incredible story of how the reckless affair between Prime Minister H H Asquith and a woman less than half his age threatened the security of the nation.
There will be music, images and flavours from both world wars.
Following this free event, donations will be welcome as you leave.
