About this Event

Second Thursdays

We're coming to you on the Second Thursday of every month. Providing you, with your monthly opportunity to meet, network and share ideas, sometimes virtually, other times in person, with other Fundraising Professionals across the West Midlands.

Please note, this is an in person event, with limited space that we expect to go quickly.

Come along to this month's session to hear from Nikki Wrench, Community Manager at the RNLI, talk about Managing Volunteers.

Managing volunteers is one of the most enjoyable yet, sometimes, challenging parts of a fundraiser’s role. Nikki Wrench, RNLI Community Manager, is joining us to share how the RNLI does this extremely well and to give her top tips on how to get the most from your volunteers. In this session you’ll learn:

- How to build relationships with long-term volunteers

- How to utilise your volunteer’s skills

- How to manage unacceptable behaviour and resolve conflict

- How to recognise long service and volunteer excellence

And much more...

Feel free to come with your questions and scenarios!

A bit about ou Speaker, Nikki Wrench:

Nikki has worked in the charity sector for 12 years, most locally at the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice in Staffordshire. Nikki has been a local fundraiser, Challenge Events Manager, Regional Fundraising Manager for Central England and, in her most recent role, Community Manager for East of England. In Nikki’s current role she manages over 600 volunteers, made up of fundraisers, retail teams, visitor experience officers and boat and shore crew. As a volunteer, Nikki supports fundraisers across the UK & Ireland with career development and interview skills, something she started doing after setting up the Facebook group Furloughed Fundraisers, during COVID.
