About this Event
Join us for the launch of an exciting new plan for Charlcombe Community Nature Reserve and a panel discussion about how local communities are delivering nature recovery.
Back in 2024 local residents set up Charlcombe Community Nature Reserve in partnership with the landowner, Bath & North East Somerset Council. The 16 acre site in Charlcombe Valley consists of wildflower rich grassland, a hedgerow that is medieval in origin and fragments of ancient woodland, bordered by brooks fed by local springs and criss-crossed by a network of footpaths.
The new plan for the reserve will set out a vision for the next five years and how this special place can help deliver nature recovery and connect local people with the natural world.
Panel members include Sheila Gundry (Head of Operations at Froglife and Panel Chair), Dan Merrett (Bathscape Manager), Sophie Bancroft (Team Wilder, Communications and Engagement Officer at Avon Wildlife Trust) and Mike Collins (Chair, Friends of Charlcombe Community Nature Reserve).
The event, which takes place in the St Stephen's Centre on the ground floor, starts at 7.30pm. Refreshments will be available and it will be a cash bar. The venue is a short distance from a bus stop (the Lansdown Park and Ride – number 31), there are places to park your bike and there is also nearby parking available.
