About this Event

Gather your friends as we return to the breath-taking, historic Drapers' Hall for splendour and entertainment while raising funds to support more children in Africa through education, enabling them to lift themselves and their families out of poverty.

So dust down your tuxes and put on that amazing frock, it's time to glam up for a night to remember!

Welcome to Champagne Reception at 18:00 to the sounds of the incredibly exciting, internationally renowned and award winning Alina Bzhezhinska Trio before we take to our seats for dinner from 19:00. Enjoy fine dining, fabulous and entertaining live auction hosted by auctioneering royalty Edward Rising, mind-blowing table magic and after dinner adventures with none other than Sir Ranulph Fiennes! Our patron Amar Latif will introduce our scholar pledge drive and talk passionately about his deep affinity with our work. Enjoy drinks in the Court Room bar and book signing with Sir Ran!

DINE WITH SIR RANULPH FIENNES

Not only is Sir Ran our speaker but he is our guest for the evening and you have a once in a lifetime opportunity to make your best bid to spend the evening with him at his table!

We chose Sir Ran as our speaker because his story is an example of someone not giving up in the face of adversity, of someone enduring hardship and challenge in pursuit of the near impossible – different circumstances, but exactly the same spirit shared by so many of the scholars Rafiki Thabo Foundation supports in Africa. There, poverty is often the obstacle in life, holding lives back despite ability or ambition… and the mechanism to break free is education.

We cannot wait to hear Sir Ran share stories from a lifetime of exhilarating experiences and adventures. Our founding trustee Jon says Sir Ran is a true hero of his, and someone that, when Jon set up Rafiki Thabo Foundation as a student 16 years ago, he could scarcely have imagined would one-day be joining us at an event like this!

AMAZING GUEST FEEDBACK

This is the second time we host our gala dinner at Drapers' Hall and it is much awaited!

Our inaugural gala dinner in 2018 was a huge success. The atmosphere was amazing, our guests had the most wonderful time and it was truly heart-warming to see and feel how moved they were about the work we do and the impact their support has on our scholars.

Don't just take our word for it! Here's a small selection of guest feedback:

“I won in the charity auction a once in a lifetime experience to go behind the scenes of Renault Formula 1 with a number of my friends followed by a Michelin starred dinner at The Nut Tree Inn. The whole event was superb and my guests were equally enthralled by the experience.”
Piers Daniell

“It was a delight to take part in such a special occasion last week. All of my friends have told me how much they enjoyed the evening and how pleased they are at the success of the fundraising.”
John Hitchens

“I thought your event was amazing and your charity is just wonderful.”
Lyndsey Wright

“Absolutely fantastic evening and so pleased to have been part of it - I really enjoyed it!”
Carolyn Drew

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

We are excited to offer a number of tiered gala dinner sponsorship packages, ranging from £100 to £6,000. Our gala sponsors and partners will benefit from publicity and marketing opportunities from the time of onboarding until the end of November 2022, with options for prominent marketing and participation at Drapers’ Hall during the Gala Dinner.

Supporting our gala dinner you will help us ensure that all fundraising on the night will benefit our educational programmes; a fabulous opportunity to represent your Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to customers, clients, shareholders and employees alike. We would welcome the opportunity to have exploratory discussions with you and will consider mutually beneficial alternatives to the packages outlined below. Please contact [email protected] to discuss further.
