Would you like to come to a Modern Jive fundraiser to raise money for a worthy charity similar to the popular “Dirk's Appeal” which was really well supported (thank you dancers!) but this time for Samaritans . If so, then save the date: Saturday 11th January 2025
We hope to create another event where we can celebrate the joy of dance and appreciation of our community's wellbeing. We are inviting over 150 dancers and their friends, maybe more!
If you are unable to attend the event, please show your support by sharing the news within your dance community on Facebook.
We'll ask each adult to contribute £10 cash on the day to the charity funds, and we'll be running a raffle on the night for some amazing prizes.
Fun mini dance competition (The Samaritans Champs) including “Dance With A Stranger” (similar to a lucky dip) for just £5.00pp (pay on the door) with 1st to 5th place medals and the winning couple keeping the Samaritans Champs Trophy for a year and winning free access to the WMJC Blackpool 2025 ( Big Thank You To John Armstrong Holmes For Your Ongoing Support ) . Plus a dance off competition with all boy/girl partnerships “Boys and girls are back in town”.
Please PM Robbie Newbury if you have a prize you would like to offer up for the raffle which can be added anytime before the big night.

Saturday 11th January, 2025 - 7:30pm -Meet and Greet. Music 8pm till 1am
VENUE....
Trumpington Meadows Primary School, Cambridge – same setup as Robbie's dance events.
There will be:
2 rooms for dancing with music incorporating Modern Jive, Chillout, Soul Funk and Modern Blues genres.
Free tea, coffee, water and nibbles will be available during the evening to boost energy levels. However, please note we will be using the Gentleman Jim outside bar again for the evening for those wanting to purchase alcoholic beverages.
Trumpington Meadows Primary is very conveniently located on the outskirts of West Cambridge and is adjacent to the Trumpington Park and Ride – a two minute walk from the free carpark and you're at the venue! Free bookable overnight campervan parking is also available.

7.30pm prompt - Meet And Greet the Judges.
8pm till 1am - music and entertainment, plus a little more perhaps...
We'll post more details in due course, but for now, please do let us know you're interested as soon as you can, so we can plan the next steps with more accurate numbers.
We have tried very hard not to clash with other local dance events and hope to work with you all in helping us support this worthy charity dance fundraiser.
