Meet trip leader Ben Fick in the grassy parking lot. The lot is across from the GRU - Kanapaha Water Reclamation Facility, which supplies the ponds of the park with reclaimed water.
See the map https://alachuaaudubon.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Chapmans-Pond.pdf for the trail parking marked with a star.
Named after Frank M. Chapman, an ornithologist who surveyed species of the area and who created Christmas Bird Count! 228 species have now been found at this location. We will follow the trails in search of migrant warblers, vireos, and flycatchers. Historically, this has been a good location for the rare Canada Warbler.
