Chaos: Politics without Foundations

Join us for a discussion and Q and A with Dr John Gibbins about the complexities and dangers of 21st century politics; how do we navigate a world of chaos?

Disorganised capitalism, class dealignment, de-traditionalisation, mediazation; the West is increasingly losing its past to the new dawn of 'modernity'. Dr John Gibbins will help us reflect upon this exposure to new stimuli, the 'alternate realities' they create, and what this means for the world of politics. We will explore the themes of cosmopolitanism and hope for a positive vision of what's ahead.

Dr John Gibbins is the co-founder of the journal Theory, Culture and society, an author on contemporary political culture and member of Trinity College.
