The Yoga Sanctuary invites you to gather in community for our annual Chanting for Peace event—a heartfelt celebration of unity, intention, and collective vibration. In honor of the UN International Day of Peace and the turning of the season, we will chant the sacred sound of OM 108 times. While chanting OM three times at the end of a yoga class can be grounding and centering, chanting it 108 times among a community of people who believe peace is possible is a profoundly moving experience.
We’ll begin with a brief discussion on the meaning of OM and the significance of 108, then move into the chant, accompanied by the resonant tones of sound bowls and other soothing instruments to help carry and amplify the vibration. The chant will be followed by nine minutes of silence, offering space to absorb the stillness and resonance—and we’ll close with a deeply grounding restorative Savasana.

This event is free and open to all. No experience is necessary.
