About this Event
How Can Businesses Bring Lasting Change to the Overdose Crisis?
Calling All Central Florida Business Leaders to Learn How the Overdose Crisis is Impacting Our Economy, Our Businesses, and Our Community.

On Monday, October 25, from 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., Project Opioid Central Florida is inviting business leaders to join us at the University Club in Downtown Orlando to hear from fellow community leaders like our Host, Sheriff Dennis Lemma, Seminole County Sheriff, and Project Opioid Central Florida Co-Chairs Dick Batchelor and Tony Jenkins, Florida Blue Central Florida Market President, on how the overdose crisis is impacting the economy, your business, and your community. Learn what business leaders like you can do to lead the charge and save lives.

Today’s crisis is directly related to the isolation, anxiety, and stress from the COVID19 Pandemic. As mental health issues have gone untreated, millions have turned to dangerous substances as a source of self-comfort. But as illicit online pharmacies and street drugs have become contaminated with fentanyl – deadly in even the tiniest quantities – accidental deaths have skyrocketed, doubling from 2019 to 2020. And whether we know it or acknowledge it, our workforce and families have been touched by this epidemic.

Topics to be discussed:

  • Learn how the overdose crisis is impacting our economy and our businesses
  • How business leaders are taking charge, saving lives through innovative HR initiatives and corporate partnerships
  • Ways you can change workplace culture for your employees and break down barriers that prevent those in need from seeking help
  • Learn how CareerSource Central Florida is providing vital career and business services through its FORTE initiative
  • How working with Project Opioid Central Florida and fellow business leaders on the overdose crisis can heal your community

Through the COLLECTIVE IMPACT Model, WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Join us on October 25th to Help Save Lives
