A beszélgetés apropója a Zade által jegyzett Changes című darab magyarországi ősbemutatója, az előadás márciustól látható a Katonában. A darabban egy pár két tagjának napját követhetjük végig. Nina parlamenti képviselő, aki több terepen igyekszik helytállni, most épp egy női menedékház bezárása ellen küzd. Mark sikeres vállalati jogász volt, de kiégett a munkájában, és úgy dönt, hogy általános iskolai tanítóként folytatja. A közös reggeli után szakmai kihívásokkal, emberi dilemmákkal, váratlan krízisekkel találkoznak napjuk során, és közös kibeszéletlen problémáik is utolérik őket. Estére mindkettőjük életében megváltoznak a dolgok, és nem ugyanaz a két ember ér haza, mint aki elindult. Az előadásban Fullajtár Andrea és Rajkai Zoltán látható, rendezője Székely Kriszta.
Maja Zade tanulmányait a University of London és a kanadai Queen’s University-n, majd a londoni Royal Academy of Dramatic Art-on végezte. 1999 óta a berlini Schaubühne munkatársa, ahol 2022/23-tól vezető dramaturg. Fordítóként és drámaíróként is aktív; darabjai a Schaubühne repertoárján szerepelnek, és számos nyelvre lefordították őket.

Playwright Maja Zade, head dramaturg of Berlin’s Schaubühne, will be in conversation with Ármin Szabó-Székely about contemporary drama and one of Germany’s most influential theatre.

The discussion is held on the occasion of the Hungarian premiere of Zade’s play Changes, which premieres at Katona in March. The play follows a day in the life of a couple. Nina is a Member of Parliament juggling challenges on several fronts; currently she is fighting the closure of a women’s shelter. Mark was a successful corporate lawyer, but burned out in his job and decided to continue his career as a primary school teacher. After breakfast together, they encounter professional challenges, human dilemmas, and unexpected crises throughout their day, while their own unspoken shared problems also catch up with them. By evening, both of their lives have changed, and the two people who return home are not the same as those who set out. The production stars Andrea Fullajtár and Zoltán Rajkai and is directed by Kriszta Székely.
Maja Zade studied at the University of London and Queen’s University in Canada, and later at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. She has been affiliated with the Schaubühne in Berlin since 1999, serving as head dramaturg from the season of 2022/23. She is active both as a translator and as a playwright; her works are part of the Schaubühne repertoire and have been translated into multiple languages.
